Palm Harbor Golf Club will host its inaugural Thanksgiving Scramble on Thursday, November 26, giving golfers a chance to play a round on Thanksgiving morning before spending the holiday with family and friends.
Sponsored by Loopers Par & Grill, the tournament will feature a four-person scramble format with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. In a scramble, each team member hits a shot, the team selects the best shot, and all players continue from that spot to complete the hole.
The entry fee is $46 per player, plus tax. Gift certificates from Loopers Par & Grill will be awarded to the winners, and pies will be awarded to the second- and third-place teams. Participation will be limited to 25 teams, or 100 players.
Traffic changes will be in place on Thanksgiving morning to accommodate the Feet to Feast Thanksgiving 5K, which will take place in the area at the same time as the golf tournament. Golfers are encouraged to plan and use the designated access route to Palm Harbor Golf Club.
Motorists are advised to use the Cooper Lane entrance to enter the golf club; that is, turn onto Club House Drive, then onto Casper Drive, and turn left at the intersection of Cooper Lane.
Loopers Par & Grill will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for food and beverages before and after the tournament.
Registration is now open, and space is limited to 25 teams. Golfers are encouraged to get their foursome together and register early to secure a spot in the inaugural Thanksgiving Scramble. To register, contact the Palm Harbor Golf Club Pro Shop at 386-986-4653.
Palm Harbor Golf Club encourages participants to allow additional travel time and follow posted traffic directions on Thanksgiving morning.
