Hurricane Recovery Continues Following Hurricane Milton: October 11, 2024

The City of Palm Coast is actively working to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Milton. As of Friday, October 11, 2024, 96 homes have reported damage, the majority of which falls into the lowest category, with only cosmetic issues. An additional 20 homes have sustained minor damage, while one home has experienced major damage due to a fallen tree penetrating the roof.

Several major roadways remain closed, including Seminole Woods Boulevard and Old Kings Road at Oak Trails Boulevard. Residents are urged to drive cautiously as crews continue to respond to reports of downed trees and power lines, and some water is still present on residential streets.

Palm Coast's Utility Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all residents who have helped conserve water during this challenging time. This community effort has been crucial in allowing our wastewater system to begin recovering. Residents are still asked to limit non-essential water use, including irrigation and excessive laundry, until Monday morning as the system stabilizes.

As we move toward reopening, the following facilities will welcome back visitors:

• James F. Holland Memorial Park will reopen on Saturday, though the splash pad will remain closed until Monday.
• The Southern Recreation Center will also reopen on Saturday.
• The Palm Coast Aquatics Center will reopen on Sunday.

Please note that the Palm Harbor Golf Club, sports fields, and trails will remain closed until tree inspections are completed. For everyone’s safety, we ask that you stay off trails until further updates are provided.

In addition, the countywide curfew has been rescinded as of 7:30 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024.
