Palm Coast Yacht Club is proud to organize the annual Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade, one of the area’s major holiday events. The 2024 Boat Parade will be held on December 15th. The date is optimal for high tides on the Intracoastal Waterway, the route of the Parade, and presents viewers and participants with a full moon. Parade rain date is Saturday, December 21, 2024.
One hundred eight boats were officially registered in the 2023 Parade on December 9, 2023, and were joined by at least fifty more brightly decorated vessels for a new Palm Coast record, making the Parade one of the three largest lit boat parades in the United States. With new enhancements for boaters and viewers, the Parade was longer by more than a mile and free city shuttle bus service for spectators was provided. Thousands of people lined the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW)) and dozens of lively parties were thrown at homes along the ICW to celebrate the widely anticipated yearly event.
Continuing its tradition of recognizing individual outstanding service to the community, the 2024 Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade, presented by the Palm Coast Yacht Club, will be held in honor of Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Dispatcher Megan Burton. Burton has been named Florida
Sheriff Association Dispatcher of the Year. The announcement was made by Sarah Ulis, Chair of the Parade.
Since 2015 when she and her family moved to Palm Coast from Montana, Burton has served as a Communications Specialist First Class for the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. In that role she has become a vital and prominent link between all members of the community at large and the emergency and police services which protect them. She has provided help to thousands of Flagler County citizens and has been credited with directly saving lives before responders could arrive.
Says Sheriff Rick Staly, “Her calm and professional demeanor has helped callers during times of distress, her attention to detail has kept our deputies and responders safe and helped them to deliver the best possible outcome. Her dedication to training new dispatchers have been invaluable to all of us. We are immensely proud of her accomplishments, most recently as Florida’s Dispatcher of the Year and honoree for the 2024 Palm Coast Holiday Boat Parade.”
Now in its 41st year, this year’s parade will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024. It is expected to retain its stature as the third largest lighted boat parade in the United States. The Parade attracts thousands of spectators and for the sixth year will be broadcast live by Flagler Broadcasting on KOOL-FM, 100.9. The City of Palm Coast will provide worldwide simultaneous live coverage on YouTube.
